It's Not ALL Screw the Light Bulb!! It's High END BABY!
GUESS WHO's BACK...Back on TRACK!!! The one, THE ONLY...That's RIGHT!!
HAHAH and NO there's nothing wrong with me...Despite rumours of JRF looking fairly different (UGLY) & hence not blogging..trust me it's not like that at all...it's just one FUNNY photo! I look the same as before hahahahah! I just needed to thread new waters and find inspiring ideas!
But thankfully by taking a quick snip break, I got to know who my readers were!!! And boy I was shocked by the response & enthusiasm! Thank You so Much for all those who read my blog, believe in me and my fashion sense! hahahahha
Anyway, it's a HUGE challenge deciding what I should blog about after such a long break....and then it dawned on me.... that I should write about what I've been working on for some time now.
I've been working on designing a sari blouse for my lovely cousin who will be engaged soon, busy practising and rehearsing non-stop for my Bollywood group's big performance in June & watching tons of new Bollywood film. All these put together have made me all crazed and hopped up on the Indian fashion scene! AND Let me tell you...... there is no fashion like Indian fashion!!!! Can I hear an Amen? AMENNNNN!
Colors/ Beading/ Embroideries/ Silk/ Lace/ Glamour....you name it we have it! I say we because I'm an Indian too....and a PROUD one at that!
I did some look see into the Indian Fashion Week and was amazed by my findings of the standard of Fashion Week in India. I mean I hear more about the Indian fashion through articles and movies then of Australian Fashion. I mean come on who are we kidding, we live in Australia but how many of us can name at least five Australian designers??? Yeah.....I thought so!!! Little Secret....ME TOO!!!
Anyway, the Indian Fashion scene is BIGGG...and by BIGG i don't mean booming...I mean BOMBED ALL THE WAY!!!
One Indian designer in particular who caught my attention was Manish Malhotra. I mean the man is a genius! His designs are really up my alley of style, that is glamour tied in with a lot of effortless styling. Not only does the women's collection stand out - there's LOADS for the MEN tooooo!!! What's interesting is this man shot to fame when he as only 25 and instead of becoming a model like he wished, he now almost controls the trend of INDIAN fashion!
What's EVEN MORE OUTSTANDING is Manish had never undergone any formal training for fashion designing, he just kept on designing as that was his passion and he landed in the BIG TIME when his dress was noticed in one of those BIG BOLLYWOOD FILM called RANGEELA! PURE TALENT!!!
Bollywood stars flock to support his art and fashion take, and his creations are showcased on the runways of the world and red carpets of the international arena! Recently even Aishwarya Rai was the show stopper for his Fashion Week show!
I would most definitely love to work with MANISH for future collections if I ever go to India!!!! MANISHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Ok ok, breathe Joel! Now, let's take a look at some of his creations...

Challenge 2: Trends of the FIERZE!
What are the current trends that are sweeping the fashion world you ask?...Let's see...
1. Sophisticated seventies look is back!
2. Leather & Lace is making it's way back into the fashion circuit!
3. Think colour blast - especially shades of camel, tan & neutral colors!
4. Return of floral prints & boot cut panths!

TRENDS TRENDS TRENDS everywhere...Who's wearing what?
I must say I am blown away by the way leather has come back, and to be paired with something as juxtaposed as lace is simply BRILLIANT! I'm in love with the new stylings of leather and being able to dress like a Rockstar, and yet still look elegant and glamorous. Even a simple leather jacket is interwoven with lace embellishments which I think is pretty brilliant. My personal favourite for the season is Thierry Mugler, Armani, Wayne Cooper & Politix! They've inspired me enough to even consider buying knee high leather boots!
I am also REALLY in love with COLORS and FLORAL prints. I mean come on, though black may always be suave, it gets a little bit boring and flat. It's time to spruce up your wardrobe with a splash of caramel, turquoise, fuchsia or even blood orange red! My personal pick for this season is turquoise; a simple color, yet it is so captivating that you can't help but gaze in awe.
I must say that I am also captivated by the return to the age of glamour that is the 70s. The days when smoky eyes and shine are things that defines a star. I am all for those beautiful sexy bedroom eyes and making a statement with the clothes I wear. Personal make-up pick for the season is M.A.C Peacocky Range! Simply Beautiful.
So pick out the trends you want to rock this season and work it out!

CHALLENGE 1: Me, Myself & I
" ASKING A FASHIONISTA what is his or her favorite outfit or style in today's society... is almost like asking a painter what is his or her favorite color or painting! I'm pretty sure every fashionista in the world would agree with that statement, and also agree that it's a very difficult question to answer!!! But we try our best to answer it anyway!
On that note, I think an individual's style really roots from his or her personality, experience and walk of life. For me it's simple. I've always been deemed different from my younger days and never wanted to do or wear things that normal guys wore. (eg. baggy jeans or even those loose tops) I have always thought out of the box, possess a mind that is never satisfied with the norm linear thinking and furthermore have always been drawn to the world of glamour and looking like a 'star'! When I say 'star', i mean a real glamorous icon. So how does that reflect my style you ask?
It's simple, my style is 'label-less' and does not fit into a generic BOX. My style really can be defined as Borderless GLAM! It's like music with interwoven genres playing around a theme! And that theme is & always will be: GLAMOUR, CHIC, ELEGANCE & CLASS! People who know me, know that when I go for an event, I take time to dress, and the result is almost always elegance pulled through with confidence! I make people stop, take a look, and then a second look, and go : "Who's that? He looks awesome"!
If you open my closet, you will see things that are unique, that break fashion stereotypes & well have some sort of shine or metallic hinge to it. I have a toned masculine physique, so exploring various garments is not a problem for me, as long as they play around the JRF theme!
It is within these FOUR WORDS that I play my cards with fashion. I mix and match things from every possible genre to create the JRF style be it high-end brands to market bazaar buys; whatever I mix and match will embody these criteria. As you can see Fashion is not just an accessory to me, it is a way of life!
My favourite outfit for the moment will most definitely have to be my Metallic Chambray Shirt by Politix. It embodies flawless & effortless elegance!
